Decide First, Leap Later: Stepping Into Your Fire Horse Year

As we close out the Year of the Snake—a year marked by shedding, releasing, and outgrowing the layers that once defined us—I’ve been reflecting on what it truly means to evolve. Snakes don’t shed because something is broken. They shed because growth requires space. And in that same way, we often outgrow versions of ourselves long before we feel “ready” to step into the new ones. This year reminded me that it’s not only okay to not know the full details of what’s next—it’s natural. Clarity rarely shows up before the decision. More often, clarity arrives after you commit to becoming someone bigger.

That understanding became real for me when I made the choice back in May to start my own boutique bookkeeping business. At the time, the idea felt aligned, but the timing wasn’t clear. I didn’t have every system mapped out, every detail perfected, or every fear resolved. But I made the decision anyway. And then months passed. I didn’t rush myself. I didn’t force the launch. I allowed myself to sit in the unknown, trusting that the right moment would reveal itself. It wasn’t until November that everything clicked and I finally set the date. That journey taught me something I hope others can feel in their own lives: sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is decide—and let the timing unfold naturally.
Because the truth is, you don’t need a flawless plan to move forward. You just need a commitment to the path. Decisions create direction. Direction creates momentum. And momentum creates the confidence you couldn’t access when you were standing still. The decision comes first; the readiness comes after.

Which brings us to where we’re headed next: the Year of the Fire Horse. A year of acceleration, bold movement, and unapologetic forward motion. Fire Horse energy doesn’t ask you to tiptoe—it urges you to gallop. To trust the spark, the instinct, the pull. To stop waiting for perfect circumstances and instead move with conviction once your moment arrives. When you feel that inner ignition—the one that tells you “it’s time”—you won’t need to push yourself. You’ll feel carried. Guided. Pulled forward by something larger than hesitation.
So as we transition into this new cycle, here’s the message I want to offer:
It’s more powerful to decide than to delay.
It’s more important to choose than to know.
And it’s more transformative to move with faith than to stay stuck waiting for certainty.
Make the decision. Plant the seed. Trust that the right season for action will come. And when it does, you’ll know—because you won’t walk. You’ll run. You’ll launch. You’ll gallop into the next version of your life with a fire you didn’t know you had.
Your Fire Horse year is coming. And it’s ready for you to meet it with courage.
